Each year at McFadden Ranch we begin a new species count of birds that reside on or visit our land. These are birds that we have personally observed and have been able to identify by use of field guides--either Peterson's, Sibley's or National Geographic (see resource list at bottom of page).

The list of species below gives a snapshot of the birds we encountered Between January 1 and October 4, 2009.
